At the end of this month, I will officially be a published author.
(applause)
Last summer, I stumbled upon a short story contest called Monsters and Mormons. The editors of the blog A Motley Vision wanted to publish an anthology that explored Mormons encountering monsters of various kinds. Intrigued, I wrote a little something and entered it. And then I wrote a second something and entered that, too. The second entry was a mashed-up version of a pioneer account of a bear hunt, taken from the diary of an ancestor of mine. In the style of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, I "tweaked" the story to turn the bears into cybernetic monsters. It was accepted! Whee!
My story is just one of many works that will be included in the volume. The anthology is set for launch on Oct 31. Everyone buy a copy!
More information will follow.

ReplyDeleteyeah to you on your publishing date..will you put the book somewhere online for us to buy... I want a copy!
ReplyDeletecongrats congrats congrats!
I loved the mashup, but the first story was pretty fun, too. Like me, you can't really write serious stuff- the humor comes out sooner or later. It would be good for it to see the light of day sometime.
