We are now a family of four. My second son, whom I shall call The Marshmellon on my blog, arrived via a normal, unmedicated vaginal birth in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
I am not sure what I should say about his birth, yet, except that it was unlike anything else I have ever experienced. It was really amazing in the best possible way. They are not kidding when they say that labor is some of the most incredible pain a human can endure, but what they don't tell you is how fantastic you feel when the baby finally comes. I had an epidural when The Squeaker was born and I felt very positive about that whole experience, but compared to giving birth to the Marshmellon, the first one was almost indifferent.
I was really surprised when The Husband announced that we had a BOY and not a GIRL. Before he was born, I wondered if I would be disappointed if we had another boy. Not so! I just love being outnumbered by boys at my house. I have TWO boys!! I love them so much.

Congrats Beth! I was so excited when Charles texted me and let me know you had had your baby. And way to go on going all the way unmedicated, you are awesome. Hope you are enjoying your new squishy little baby! :)
ReplyDeleteWoohoo!!! Congrats!! I'm so glad your unmedicated birth went well. It is thrilling!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Beth! I'm so glad the birth went well.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your son!! Before Guinevere was born, I really wanted, and thought we were having a boy, and then when I had a girl, it all made sense, that was really what we needed/wanted in our family. Glad that your labor went well too!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I vote that you write more about the difference between your birth experiences. I'm so happy for you having another sweet little boy.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Beth!! We are so happy and excited for you! I'm glad you had such a wonderful birthing experience. How fun to have 2 boys! :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats! Knit him many warm things!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about you all week and realized I assumed you'd had your baby, but didn't know when, so I came to your blog to check it out. Congrats!!! I can't believe it's been a month and a half and no one has even told me. (Although I knew your Dad was in town) Sarah's Birthday is Sept 30th and she just got baptized so I'm been so scattered. You should have waited two more days and they could have had the same birthday (I know that's like an eternity of waiting when your pregnant) So exciting!! Congrats I hope you are doing well and I hope we can see you soon over the holidays!
